What is Doge Pepe (DOPE)?
Doge Pepe ($DOPE) is an Ethereum-based memecoin inspired by a viral AI coding accident that resulted in the creation of a unique 3D hybrid character combining Doge and Pepe, two of the internet's most recognizable meme icons. The story began when a creator experimenting with 3D meme design accidentally ran a script through the wrong API, consuming over 400 million tokens and generating approximately $1,900 in API charges.
How does Doge Pepe work?
The unexpected result was a humorous Doge–Pepe hybrid character, nicknamed "DOPE." Doge Pepe transforms this accidental creation into a community-driven meme identity, celebrating internet humor, AI mishaps, creativity, and meme culture. Built on Ethereum, $DOPE represents the character and its origin story rather than claiming to be an AI tool or technology platform. **Project slogan:** Wrong API. Right face.
